V.F. Corp (NYSE:VFC) neared session highs, up 4.3%, amid a report on about potential brand sales.
After a recent report that V.F. Corp (VFC) is looking to see its Supreme brand, likely bidders for the remainder of VF’s portfolio include Authentic Brands, WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group in addition to buyout shop Sycamore Group, according to an Axios Pro report on Friday, which cited people familiar with the matter.
VF’s larger brands, specifically Timberland, are especially attractive to a potential bidder, according to the report. A potential buyer could also look to take the entire business private.
Women’s Wear Daily reported last Wednesday that V.F. Corp (VFC) is looking to unload its Supreme unit, and is working with Goldman Sachs to explore its options.
V.F. Corp (VFC) is currently in the midst of a strategic review of its brands, with all but Vans and The North Face under consideration. The most likely to be sold – in addition to Supreme – is its backpack division, Timberland, and Dickies.
